  28. The Cardinal is based on a Rockwell chip set I'm pretty sure.  The code
  29. for the datapump is masked on the dsp chip, and cannot be changes without
  30. replacing the chip (which is soldered onto the modem board).  So an upgrade
  31. would be a factory affair, and probably more expensive than you would
  32. want to pay if they were to offer it.
